URGENT

Attention Toluca Lake.

Report of Possible Child-Predator/Harasser-Stalker-Molester in Neighborhood: Wednesday and Thursday (6/25 and 26)

Dear Neighbors,
Affixed below is an IMPORTANT ALERT from one of our neighbors in the 10400 block of Woodbridge. The report is self-explanatory, and the LAPD is already aware of the situation and is involved, BUT Vicky wanted to be sure that the local community knew of the situation so that we could be on alert, as well. On two separate occasions, the suspected predator has attempted to lure two different young girls into his truck. The man is described as a large male, possibly Hispanic, with a scruffy white beard, driving a small red pick-up truck with faded paint on the passenger door. Please alert your household members to this situation, and, if you see this vehicle, please call 911 or Officer Brodsky (818-623-4016) IMMEDIATELY. Since this is not a single incident (i.e. two reported attempts on two different girls, on two consecutive days, both in our neighborhood within a few blocks of each other) we need to be on high alert.
It should go without saying, but, if you see this suspect or the described vehicle, please DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SPEAK WITH THE SUSPECTED PREDATOR. JUST CALL THE LAPD IMMEDIATELY and make reference to the investigation of Officer Brodsky. Much “better to be safe than sorry” in making a report.

Hi Ron – I don’t know how to best get this word out – but today, a scruffy beard white/Hispanic male (large guy, girls said he was a bodyguard type) in a small red pickup truck (open bed, with faded paint on passenger door, work-truck type) drove up to one of the neighborhood girls on Whipple street, and he asked her directions to the 134. He said his name is Carlos and he was working down the block at the worksite at Arcola and Whipple. The girl gave him directions but he didn’t drive off, he continued trying to talk to her, asking her personal questions, like whether anyone was home in her house, was she single, and he tried to get her to come up to the car and get his number. She ran into her home, and he drove away, but she felt threatened enough to file a police report under attempted kidnapping. The man proceeded down the block and asked the same question about how to find the 134 to another young girl in the next block. This girl said she didn’t see a front plate on the car. My daughter said the same man approached her yesterday, on Whipple, and he said his name was Carlos and asked her directions to the 134. In my daughter’s case, she just kept walking. Clearly there is something going on – I know the police are looking for him, I just want to make sure everyone warns their kids to stay cautious of this man. To me, this is definitely scarier than the coyote problem! The police officer who attended the call is officer Brodsky, his number is 818.623.4016, if anyone sees this man the police want to talk to him.
